Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. Her first release was funny, well-written rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Apart from classical music and jazz, the young Nora began studying hip-hop in her teens. In college, she studied the field of women's studies and journalism. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. When she graduated, she started to focus on music. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included on her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. This song is directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Apart from being a published author as well, she also worked as a singer. Alongside early TV shows that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
